This is a FREE concert on the Northwest Quadrant of the Village Green (corner of High Street & Dublin-Granville Road). Join us for a special performance by the Nexus Saxophone Quartet! A highly versatile ensemble that switches between classical, jazz, and contemporary music, the ensemble will perform a diverse program entitled “Around the World of Time.”

Featuring Ryan Alexis (Soprano Saxophone, Worthington Schools); Rob Cebriak (Alto Saxophone, Gahanna Jefferson Schools); Don Nathan (Tenor Saxophone, Worthington Schools [retired]); and Matt Guirreri (Baritone Saxophone, Pickerington Schools); the Nexus Saxophone Quartet will perform a world premiere commissioned by Sunday at Central called “Day-Today” for four saxophones by HyeKyung Lee (Associate Professor of Composition, Denison University), as well as works by Scott Joplin (arr. Frackenpohl), David Holsinger, Percy Grainger (arr. Zajac), Waller/Brooks (arr. Niehaus), Jean Rivier, and Emilio Wilhelm Ramsøe.

This concert, as well as Sunday at Central’s entire 2022-23 season, is dedicated to David Niwa (1964-2022), Sunday at Central’s former Artistic Director.

Admission is free. Seating is available on a first-come first-served basis and free parking is available. Recommended for ages 9 and older. This performances also will be livestreamed at facebook.com/sundayatcentral and can be watched later at youtube.com/sundayatcentral.

Founded in 1994, Sunday at Central is a nonprofit chamber music recital series that offers intimate, personalized traditional chamber music concerts with internationally recognized professional musicians. It’s supported in part by The Columbus Foundation’s Community Arts Fund, the Ingram-White Castle Foundation, the Greater Columbus Arts Council, the Ohio Arts Council (which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency), The Loft Violin Shop, The Puffin Foundation, and the Johnstone Fund for New Music.
